According to the Department of Statistics, for the month of June 2008, the consumer price index fell by 0.3 per cent over May 2008. Compared with June 2007, the consumer price index in June 2008 increased by 7.5 per cent. The consumer price index for the first half of 2008 was 7.1 per cent higher compared with the same period in 2007.
