Ex-IBM top executive, Mark Papermaster, was reported and introduced by Apple as their new senior vice president of devices hardware engineering this week. Mark Papermaster had been with IBM for a good 26 years was the vice president in charge of blade sever development unit until his resignation last month. He was described as the IBM's top expert on Power microprocessors.
Why did Apple hire away IBM's Mark Papermaster? The answer is clear.
At least for now, Mark Papermaster will not be reporting for his new appointment in a years' time after the judge blocked him from joining Apple. IBM has won a suit against the move but this is going to delay the move by a year.
