USB 3.0 is finally finalized and will be formally unveiled next Monday. Last February, I made a post on this new protocol. USB 3.0 will feature some more efficient protocols which will shut down to preserve power when not in use. The cables will be parallel optical which allows for the higher speeds which boost up to 4.8Gbps.
USB 3.0 is said to be capable of transferring 25GB data in just 70 seconds. The older USB 1.0 needs 9.3 hours while USB 2.0 takes 13.9 minutes.
