By following the following simple steps, the problem may be resolved (at least for some).
On the main FB page, click the "Account" (on top left) and select "Help Centre" then login and then back to "News Feed".

Facebook for iPhone - Unable to load News Feed "No Internet Connection"
Facebook for iPhone seems to be getting the following error when loading News Feed.
